Porcelain busts of the famous composers Joseph Haydn and Franz Liszt
19,- Euro apiece
Biscuit porcelain busts of the famous composers Joseph Haydn (31 maart 1732 - 31 mei 1809) and Franz Liszt (22 oktober 1811 - 31 juli 1886).
The names and dates of the composers are engraved on a copper plaque.
They are made by the famous 'W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik Company' and signed by one of their most successful and famous sculptors, Gerhard Bochmann (see back of item).
Bochmann worked for Goebel during the period of 1962-1991, and these two busts are estimated to be from the 1960's.
Bochmann is clearly one of the best known and most respected sculptors of his time. His sculptures have been exhibited in the Meissen Museum (Meißen, Germany) and many other fine art establishments.
The busts stand approximately 24 cm tall, with a width and depth of 13 cm and are mounted on a square wooden base.
They weigh approximately one kilogram apiece.
The busts are in very good condition, no damage of any kind.
These are great pieces for any collector, as the composer series appears to be quite rare and difficult to find.
It would surely be a great addition to any collection.
